Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Daniel Haughton shot into fame in 1994 when she released her album debut Age Ain't Nothing but a Numer. Her album, which was made available at just fifteen years old it went Gold. This collaboration was highly influenced by R. Kelly, and helped put her onto the scene. In 1996 Jermaine Durpri and Timbaland joined forces to record her sophomore album One In A Million. This album featured the song If Your Boyfriend only Knew as the number one. Aaliyah was recognized internationally for her work as an R&B performer with the launch of her sophomore album One in a Million. In 2000 she appeared on the screen in Romeo Must Die, a action/romance film starring Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award ceremony in which she was cast was able to spot her. In 2002, she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced thriller Queen of the Damned. The Matrix Sequels followed, featuring Zee playing her role. She received four Grammy nominations in 2001, 1999, 2002 and 2003. Aarti Mann is the first generation Indian-American born and raised in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is an abbreviation of her marital name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her formal name, but she has also used Aarti Magumdar. Although she began with tiny film and television parts, her acting career began becoming more popular in the middle of 2000s. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. In addition, she was a part of several commercials that included Volvo and many other major car brands. Her daughter resides in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
