Her mother is Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of mobile company Verizon. Her father was a businessman Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director of an online network firm. Her family was Catholic and she was raised on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. This is why her parents enrolled her in the Convent of the Sacred Heart an elitist and religious school. Since her early years, she has been a music lover. She began to play piano at a relatively young age. She made her first music composition at the age of thirteen. She performed at open mic nights. She was a fan of Queen Michael Jackson Madonna, and David Bowie. She took music classes at the New York University Tisch School of Art when she completed her secondary schooling. She didn't finish her education and decided to quit in order to pursue her career in music.
