Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents after the town in which she grew in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her and her siblings to Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. They lived in a place without electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the lack of television. Ryder began taking acting lessons at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. Lucas, a 1986 film which was her first big role. Ryder was fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder was subject to bullying in highschool. Ryder believed that her future as an actress would help. However, it didn't occur. But she continued to chase the dreams she had. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder continued playing roles that were successful in several movies. In 1993, Ryder was in the running two times for the Academy Awards.
